Fix Elden Ring “Frame Rate Unsuitable for Online Play” Error

How to Fix Elden Ring “Frame Rate Unsuitable for Online Play” Error

Of the many issues reported by Elden Ring players is the one where they get errors that read “Frame rate unsuitable for online play”.

This can be a hassle but don’t worry, we’ll show you how to navigate this problem in this guide. There isn’t really a proper way to fix this problem if the game runs fine for you and you still get this error.

But if you do notice slowdowns in your gameplay, then you should try to update your GPU drivers if you haven’t already and also lower the game’s graphics settings – both things that we have suggested previously in this guide.

If none of these issues fix the problem, try to move the game to your SSD too as it is what we recommend for players facing the freezing and crashing issues when playing Elden Ring.

Lastly, if your GPU comes with software that lets you put certain applications to ‘High performance’, then put Elden Ring under that option. And aside from GPU software, there’s a similar option in Windows itself too.

Step 1 – Open ‘Graphics Settings’

You can do this quickly by searching for it in the Start menu and then opening it by clicking on it.

Step 2 – Click ‘Browse’ and give it your game’s .exe

Once you press ‘Browse’, you can find the game under this directory:

The drive name will be different for your directory, so you’ll have to figure that out on your own.

Step 3 – Set Elden Ring to High Performance

Once you put the game to High Performance, try to see if the issue persists. If it’s still there, unfortunately you’ll have to wait for an official patch that solves the problem.
