We all like a Low-Rider, and one of the most fun aspects of these cars is to bounce along to the tunes of West Coast Classics or Mirror Park Radio using the custom addition to do just that.
However it’s not as straightforward as one might think to get such an iconic staple of Grand Theft Auto, but we’ll happily be your guide on how to get your hands on them.
Where to Find/Buy Them
For starters, you will not find these at any of the Los Santos Customs shops, meaning they’re not an upgrade that you can get hold of for any of the three GTA V story protagonists.
You will only be able to fit a car with these buoyant boosters at Benny’s Original Motor Works shop in Strawberry.
What’s more, Benny can only outfit specific vehicles to have these exclusive add-ons, he can’t just outfit any old hunk of junk to be an automotive masterpiece.
To see the vehicles the mechanical maestro can fine-tune, check out his website ahead of time by opening your iFruit phone, opening the internet app, choosing “Travel and Transport”, and then selecting Benny’s Shop website.
Once you’re on his page, choose the heading “Stock” to see the cars you can purchase that he will modify, or bring one of those models to him. This can be either a personal vehicle or a random NPC vehicle (by upgrading with Benny, that vehicle will become a personal vehicle).
Another vital thing to note, not all vehicles can be customized with hydraulics. In order to not be disappointed, consult this list first. The cheapest option that can be outfitted with altitude-alterers is the Declasse Voodoo for $5,500.
Choosing Your Color
Choose your color, purchase the vehicle and select which garage it will be delivered to. It will then shortly appear in your chosen garage after you receive your confirmation delivery text. Once it’s been delivered, cruise on down to Benny’s shop.
Once inside, you will be presented with all the standard upgrades available from Los Santos Customs, with the additional option of “Upgrade: Benny’s Original Motor Works” at the very top. Bear in mind, this isn’t a cheap option, so be prepared to splash some serious cash.
Your model will be changed to the “Retro” version of the car with all new upgrade options. On the list you’ll see “Hydraulics”. Select this option, and then pick from the available list and confirm your purchase.
How to Use Them
Now you finally have the toys to play with. Hold A (Xbox) or X (PS) to activate the hydraulic system.
Use the left analog stick while holding either the A or X button to move the car chassis around or let go of the A/X button to drive with the hydraulics locked in place.
With the hydraulics active, hold A/X down to bunny hop with the car.
Finally, tap A/X to deactivate the hydraulics.
