Like any other great RPG, Elden Ring offers different ways of obtaining runes, equipment, and powers for the player. One of the most rewarding things in Elden Ring is the Remembrances, which are Consumable items that are dropped by certain bosses in the game.
There are two things that you can do with Remembrances. The first one is to trade them in for a large number of runes. And the second thing that you can do is to trade them in for different equipment and powers, which makes the effort of killing the boss entirely worth the effort.
Before you trade the Remembrances, you can head over to a Walking Mausoleum and duplicate it.
You can only duplicate a single Remembrance per Mausoleum and it can only be duplicated once per your playthrough – so it’s a good idea to make sure you carefully pick which Remembrances you want to trade in since there are only 7 Walking Mausoleums in the game.

Unfortunately, many players face an issue in Elden Ring where they can’t duplicate Remembrances and are stuck to only having one of them at a time. But over time, players have figured out how to fix Elden Ring’s can’t duplicate Remembrances problem!
So, let’s jump right into it and solve the problem which stops you from duplicating Remembrances.
How to Fix Elden Ring Remembrance Not Duplicating Bug
Unlike many bugs in Elden Ring that were solved by patches or custom fixes, the inability to duplicate Remembrances is actually a game mechanic. There are 7 walking Mausoleums in Elden Ring and they come in two variations. The first one comes with bells, and the other type comes without bells.
The reason you are unable to duplicate your Remembrances in Elden Ring is that you visited the wrong walking Mausoleum.
Mausoleums with bells can duplicate the Remembrance of any boss that you killed. Mausoleums without bells can only duplicate the Remembrance of a non-shard bearer boss.
Make sure to only use Legendary Remembrances on the Mausoleums without bells because you can’t use the Demigod Remembrances on them. So, save the Demigod Remembrances for the Mausoleums with bells instead since they are the only ones who can duplicate them.
It’s very easy to unknowingly use a Legendary Remembrance on a Mausoleum with a bell and that means you are now down by one chance of ever being able to duplicate a Demigod Remembrance.
So, as long as you keep these specific rules in mind – you won’t have any problems duplicating Remembrances in Elden Ring again. Thus, the issue is fixed!
