How to Use Curse Of Binding In Minecraft

There are a lot of things that separate novice Minecraft players and true veterans of the game.

It can be small things like when to stop digging, knowing where to look for certain items, not sleeping in the nether realm. Kidding aside, one might not consider you a veteran if you know these things. But they sure do help in you becoming a better player.

And Better in the sense that you’re playing smart. Make no mistake, you spend a lot less time doing tasks if you’re familiar with some of the mechanics of the game.

This brings us to the topic of Enchantments.

Enchantments are without a doubt a true game-changer for Minecraft players. Enchanting your weapons and armor will have a noticeable effect on the way you do certain tasks in the game. It will definitely help you in one way or another.

In this article, I will discuss the curse of binding. I’ll be honest with you, this is definitely not like the enchantments that I’ve mentioned above.

This enhancement will definitely not help you in your gameplay but might end up having a few laughs at the expense of others if you’re smart.

Curse Of Binding Uses in Minecraft

The Curse of Binding will essentially prevent a player from removing whatever item that it is applied on.

For example, if you apply it to your helmet you won’t be able to remove that helmet, which is hilarious if you’re unaware of this particular enchantment.

Obtaining Curse of Binding in Minecraft

Here’s the bad news, you can’t get the curse of binding enchantment the same way you’ll get other enchantments.

It is exclusively found amongst treasure items. In other words, the only way to actually get it is to find a treasure chest (lots of them to increase your chances), you can find treasure chests in places like Outposts, temples, or even Pyramids.

You can also go fish for it, or trade with villagers.

Don’t lose hope if you don’t find it right away because this item is a notoriously difficult find and is probably the rarest in the game.

If you have the Luck of the sea enchantment you’ll definitely increase your chances of getting the curse of binding enchantment.

Curse of Binding Applying Guide

In order to apply the Curse of Binding, you’ll need an anvil and of course, the item that you wish to torture.

Put that item in one slot and the curse of binding in the other one, this will attach the curse to your item and you will have successfully ruined a perfectly good piece of equipment.

If you don’t know where to get an anvil. Get a crafting table; place three iron blocks on top and an iron ingot in the middle and three at the bottom.

You’ll be very happy or very unhappy to know that there is no practical way to remove the Curse of Binding from your item. Short of dying or ruining the item completely, there’s not much you can do.

However, there used to be a bug in the game which did enable you to remove but it has since been fixed.
