Risk of Rain 2 is filled with a large amount of content that keeps players busy for dozens of hours. Whether you’re unlocking different characters to play as, finding new things by participating in new loops, or exploring every corner of the game to figure out every secret – the game has it all and does not get old.
One of the most important hidden realms in Risk of Rain 2 is the ‘A Moment, Fractured’ and it’s only unlockable if you manage to spawn a Celestial Portal.
Spawning a Celestial Portal is not easy and it requires several steps to be completed first, which includes an Artifact Gate event too.
It can take too many runs to figure out how to unlock such a hidden secret in the game by yourself. So, we’ve created a thorough guide on how to unlock the Celestial Portal in Risk of Rain 2 to save your precious time and efforts. Let’s get started!
How to Spawn a Celestial Portal in Risk of Rain 2
Spawning a Celestial Portal requires a lot of steps to be completed first and even after they are done, you still have to do a task related to the Teleporter for it to finally be unlocked. Here’s what you need to do in ideal order:
1. Loop at least once
Looping in Risk of Rain 2 is the process of completing the Teleporter in either the Siren’s Call or the Abyssal Depths. Once you loop, the game sends you back to the first environment set, and the difficulty at which you last looped will be retained. Additionally, you will also have to pay more for items and drones.
So, make sure to loop at least once as a part of the steps in which you unlock the Celestial Portal.
2. Reach the 3rd Stage
Once the loop is completed, reach the third stage, and then you will be able to potentially find the Celestial Loop in stages 8, 13, and so on – based on 5 stages passed each.
3. The spawning of the Celestial Portal
Once the Celestial Portal shows up on one of the aforementioned numbers, you will see the Celestial orb circling the Artifact Gate, and then you will be able to join an event inside. It will spawn on either Rallypoint Delta or Scorched Acres once the player completes all of the requirements,
4. A Moment, Fractured
Once you complete the Teleporter event after the Celestial orb spawns – you will be able to access the Celestial Portal successfully. This will eventually lead you to a hidden realm called ‘A Moment, Fractured’, which is the purpose of spawning the Celestial Portal in the first place.
Inside, there are multiple floating islands and players can interact with the Obelisk and can obliterate themselves from existence. This ends the current run and unlocks an achievement called ‘True Respite’.
And on top of that, you even unlock the character Mercenary. And last but not least, the player gets 5 Lunar Coins. It’s not a very big number but it’s still good to have in your virtual in-game banks – and money earned from hard effort always feels more rewarding.
If the player changes their mind about ending the run and just wants to leave, then they can exit through a portal near the Obelisk, which is on the right side of the hill that the player will be on.
And that does not mean that the player won’t ever see the Celestial Portal again if they reject ending their run at first. Following the same steps, the player might take some time to run into them again – but it will show up sooner or later.
