How to Unlock the true ending in Persona 5 Royal
Four requirements need to be completed if you wish to get the true ending of Persona 5 Royal. It’s because the specific characters are important to the finale and their status of being alive and relationship with the player has to reach the point that the ending is meant to reflect.
Fortunately, this does not really contain any major spoilers so you can follow this guide even on your first playthrough without having to worry about knowing any important plot details ahead of their time.
Here’s what you will need to do in these four requirements for the ending:
Requirement 1
Achieve the rank of Confidant Rank 9 with Takuto Maruki by the date of November 18.
Councilor Maruki is brought to the Shujin Academy as a mentor to certain students and you will have to level up his social link.
Fortunately, it’s not difficult and you can just visit him after school finishes every time and get to know him better and increase your rank. Once you’re Rank 9, you’re good to go and you can focus on the others.
Requirement 2
Achieve the rank of Confidant Rank 5 with Kasumi by the date of December 18.
A character new to Persona 5 Royal, you will not get to see her too many times. So, it would be very beneficial for you to spend as much time with her as possible every time you see her around because otherwise, you might lose the chance forever.
Kasumi is often hanging out in Kichijoji so simply approach her in the main promenade section of the game’s city and hang out with her as much as possible. Once you reach the rank, move onto other requirements.
Requirement 3
Achieve the rank of Confidant Rank 8 with Akechi by the date of November 24.
A returning character, he has a new Confidant link in the Royal version of the game. Like Maruki, it’s pretty easy with him and all you need to do is hang out with him as much as you can until your rank has reached the number 8.

Requirement 4
Refuse every offer given to you by the antagonist in the Third Semester of the game.
Usually, telling you who the antagonist is so you can do certain things with them in a game like Persona usually means that you’ll get a spoiler – but fortunately, we can give you a heads up without ruining the story for you.
In the third semester of the game, you will be given multiple offers by a new antagonist and it will become very obvious to you when you receive offers. Simply reject all of them and if you have completed all four of the requirements, you will have the true ending when the game ends.
