The recipe for Pumpkin Soup can only be obtained from Robin. She’s one of the best friends to have early on in the game as she is kind and can help you construct buildings, and will sometimes give you materials.

After gaining seven Friendship Hearts with her, Robin mails you the recipe. To increase your friendship with Robin, you can give her gifts or complete quests for her.

These are the gifts Robin loves which reward 80 friendship points:

  • Goat Cheese
  • Spaghetti
  • Peach
  • All universal loves.

For 45 friendship points, you can gift her these items:

  • All fruit
  • All milk
  • Hardwood
  • Quartz
  • All universal likes.

You should also NOT give Robin these items if you want to decrease your friendship:

  • Wild Horseradish
  • Holly
  • All universal dislikes except Hardwood
  • All universal hates.

She often posts on the community bulletin board or the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s store, where she asks for stone or wood. You get 150 friendship points for giving these items to her.

In Year One during Spring 11th, Robin will write you a letter asking for help retrieving her lost axe. To find the missing axe, go to the southeast area of the Cindersap Forest by the sewer grate. After returning the axe to Robin, you’ll receive one friendship heart.

In Winter 2st, Robin will write another letter requesting 10 pieces of hardwood. Hardwood cannot be obtained by chopping down ordinary trees and requires an upgraded axe (preferably a Steel Axe).

They can be found in mahogany trees, large logs, and large stumps. Giving her these materials will also grant you one friendship heart.

The recipe she mails you reveals two ingredients for Pumpkin Soup:

  • Pumpkin
  • Milk.

Growing pumpkins take 13 days and have a chance of turning into a giant crop when planted in a 3×3 pattern and when it’s consistently watered while full-grown. You can yield double quantities when harvesting with an axe.

Alternatively, you can buy pumpkins from Pierre’s General Store or the Travelling Merchant on Friday or Sunday.

If you have a barn and a silo, you can also get milk from cows by walking up to it with a Milk Pail. Cows produce milk daily, so it shouldn’t be hard to harvest. You can also get milk from Sandy randomly if she notices you’re thirsty.

Now that you have these two ingredients, you’ll need a place to cook Pumpkin Soup. There are two ways you can cook: in the Kitchen or anywhere outside your farmhouse using a Cookout Kit.
