Dark Souls 3: Warrior of Sunlight Guide

Dark souls 3 Warrior of Sunlight Guide

Dark Souls 3 is the satisfying conclusion to one of the best video game trilogies that we have seen in recent times.

While many games seem to be made with a general audience in mind, Dark Souls has always been developed with the fans in mind and maintained its status as a hardcore game.

Although it’s more than fulfilling as a single-player experience, one of the things that made the Dark Souls games even better than they already were was the inclusion of online multiplayer.

Dark Souls 3 allows players to both participate in co-op and PvP gameplay against real players, which is something that many of us grew up enjoying – and still love to this day.

Among the most popular aspects of the Dark Souls games have been the ability to join Covenants, which is essentially like a faction that comes with different perks and abilities as a reward for joining them.

And Warrior of Sunlight is an iconic faction that is considered very important to the game and has shown up in every installment of the franchise in one way or another.

It takes a lot of time to try out every Covenant for yourself to figure out which one suits you the best – so we’ve created a thorough Dark Souls 3 Warrior of Sunlight Guide for you to know everything that there is to know about it in just a few minutes.

What Are Dark Souls 3 Covenants?

Covenants are basically factions and you can join one of 9 different ones in the game. They offer different offline and multiplayer rewards and cause certain changes in the gameplay, so picking the right one is determined by your playstyle.

The rewards vary between things like game mechanics, abilities, items, and getting help when a player invades your world.

The Warrior of Sunlight Covenant is linked to other Covenants and players in the game, similar to many others. However, it has a bit more independence when compared to the likes of Blue Sentinels or Way of the Blue for example, since it’s not tied to any single Covenant directly.

That being said, the job of Warrior of Sunlight members is still to help other players – which is done by helping the summoner fight bosses or invaders in their world.

How to join Warrior of Sunlight:

First of all, you need to walk to the ‘Undead Settlement’ bonfire and after walking for a bit you’ll be next to a huge fire that has people worshipping it.

Walk past the fire and go inside the house that will appear, and then go into the hole on the top floor that will allow you to fall down.

From here, you’ll be able to find the Warrior of Sunlight insignia and then you just need to equip it.

Warrior of Light Rewards:

Here is the list of the rewards that you get for joining the Warrior of Sunlight.

  • Successfully defeating a boss or clearing a hostile area will reward both the player and the host with a Sunlight Medal, which is used to rank up the Covenant.
  • A set gift is granted upon reaching higher ranks, such as the Sacred Oath and a Great Lightning Spear.

There are a few other details that change when you’re a part of this Covenant, such as performing the ‘Praise the Sun’ gesture when summoned and gaining different colors/auras based on what you’re doing – but the two listed above are the main ones.

How to Rank up as a Warrior of Light

To rank up as a Warrior of Sunlight, you need to obtain a Sunlight Medal. This is gained by either helping other players defeat a boss or clear an area full of enemies – or finding it as a rare drop from Lothric Knights in the Lothric Castle.

Having 10 Sunlight Medals allows you to reach Rank 1, and you reach Rank 2 at 30. Keep in mind that you don’t need a total of 30 Sunlight Medals because this count is additive. So, you’ll need 10 to reach Rank 1 and then 20 more to reach Rank 3, making it a total of 30.

Once you have enough of the medals, wait until you’re about to fight the Dragonslayer Armour boss. Then, around the fog before it, there’s a small brown door that is locked and you can find a ladder around the side of this specific building.

Climb up, follow the way that’s in front of you, go down, and then back where you came from – which will allow you to reach the brown door from the other side. By your left side, there will be an Altar of Sunlight where you can offer the medals and level up your rank.

And that’s a wrap on our guide for Dark Souls 3 Warrior of Sunlight! We hope that you found it useful and will be joining this Covenant soon.
