How to Close Doors – Among Us Guide
The first thing you should remember is that there are lots of maps available in Among Us, and not all maps allow you to close the door. So, the sabotage is only available on the maps mentioned below:
- The Airship
- Polus
- The Skeld.
To open the door, you have to tap the “Sabotage” button featured in the bottom-right corner of your device screen. After that, the game displays you a map with all possible sabotages and lets you click on the icon of doors that you can open and close if possible.
Furthermore, you aren’t allowed to open up all doors; only a few doors are set to be opened by players (imposters). Besides, we’ve compiled a guide to help you understand how door mechanics works.
Step-by-Step Beginner’s Guide to Close Doors
Before starting, you should keep in mind that only those players who are playing as imposters are capable of closing the doors, while crewmates aren’t considered to close the door. To close the door, you have to follow the steps as follows:
- After becoming an Imposter, you should search for the “Sabotage” button featured at the bottom right corner of your screen.
- Click the Sabotage button to open up the map on the screen. Now, discover special buttons that only an imposter can operate in Among Us.
- The game displays several door signs on the map and a red “X” to imposters who come to close the door of the specific room.
- Tapping the X button may help you close the door of the particular room you select, and it will be closed for 10 seconds.
Note: A cooldown time will start after locking the door and prevent players from closing the door instantly. As the cooldown time ends, the player becomes able to close the door once again.
Closing the door isn’t a big deal, and sometimes, imposters confuse the crewmates.
Furthermore, you should be careful because if you have been caught red-handed with someone in the room with a closed door, then you might find yourself standing over their Corpse, and cremates may consider you an imposter.
In that situation, we suggest you leave the room via the vent or report the corpse yourself to prevent being caught.
How to Sabotage In Among us

Next, select the location where you have decided to complete the procedure. Besides, a countdown of thirty seconds will start where cremates require to repair the device. If a crewmate successfully repairs the device, the sabotage will stop; otherwise, the imposter will win.
Closing doors is almost impossible if the sabotage is active and the ability goes on cooldown after being utilized.
