There are many reasons for which players create multiple characters in Lost Ark. You can create 6 characters for free and can add extra slots by purchasing them with real-world money.
It’s always a good idea to have a main, but alt characters allow you to experience the game in different ways since you can assign a class to them that you don’t use on your main. On top of that, Lost Ark is a very grindy game and after you complete most of the main and side missions, you hit a bit of a roadblock in terms of leveling your character up.
In that case, the best thing to do is to play with alts and level them up because primary resources and experience in the game are shared between your accounts, which includes both the alts and mains.
Unfortunately, sometimes you can’t create characters in Lost Ark due to issues and it takes a workaround to fix the problem.
So, if you’re experiencing can’t create character issues in Lost Ark, here’s how you can fix them! Once you’re done following this guide, you will be able to make a new character.
How to fix Lost Ark can’t create character issues
Although Lost Ark does have some random bugs, the character creation issues are caused by an official decision by the developers of the game. Lost Ark launched with a limited number of servers and since the game is very popular, many of them became far more overcrowded than what the developers could handle.
Therefore, two actions were taken to make up for this problem. The first one is to introduce some new servers to Lost Ark that players can join or move to, which did not have any queuing issues.
The second and most important change is that many servers in the game have a limit placed on them due to which you can no longer create additional characters for the time being. This limit might be lifted in the future, but for now, it’s present.
Here’s a list of the servers that have a character creation limit placed on them:
NA West
- Mari
- Valtan.
NA East
- Azena
- Una
- Regulus
- Avesta.
EU Central
- Kadan
- Trixion
- Thirain
- Zinnervale
- Asta.
So, if your account is registered to any of these servers – you cannot make new characters. There is no fix to this problem and you just have to wait for the developers to re-enable the creation of additional characters in the future.
If you want to make new characters, you have to join a server that is not listed here. Those are without limits and you can easily make as many alts as you want.
It should be kept in mind that this limit only exists for new players. If you already have a character on these servers, you can still make alts. If for any reason you cannot, it’s a bug, and your only option from that point on is to contact the support and ask them for a solution to your account-related problems.
