How to Get Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2

How to Get Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2

Armor is just as important as the weapon you use in Destiny 2, and Hunters tend to get some of the coolest gear out of every class in the game. Whether it’s items that offer an outrageous advantage or just something top tier to play around within the game – Destiny 2 is full of them and it takes time and effort to get the best ones.

The Ophidia Spathe is one of them and it happens to be a rare item with a perk called Scissor Fingers that allows players to have two knife charges instead of the usual one.

It’s certainly not the greatest gear but it’s still one of the most convenient ones in the game and can suit many play styles perfectly, especially those with Gunslinger perks.

Figuring out how to get this exotic item can take a lot of time, so we’ve created a thorough guide to save your time. Here’s how to get Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2

How to Unlock Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2

Much like most items in Destiny 2, especially those that are parts of exotic gear – you can’t obtain the Ophidia Spathe in any guaranteed manner. There are a few methods that can help you obtain it faster, however, so we’ll explain what they are to all the Hunters looking forward to unlocking this item.

1. Play PvE and PvP Matches

The first method of unlocking Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2 is to play a lot of PvE and PvP matches in different game modes. The game randomly drops this exotic gear and you can end up getting it when you’re not even expecting it.

This includes playing games of Strikes, Nightfalls, and Crucibles, which are known as a decent way of getting exotic loot.

But it’s the slowest option and also the least guaranteed one to get the item – it’s just a good way to get it because it means you’re playing the game and extra quests you usually wouldn’t do along the way too.

2. Weekly Bounties

Not more useful than the PvP and PvE matches by a large margin – but it’s slightly more effective. Completing the weekly bounties gets you drops of rare exotic items, and that means you might end up getting the Ophidia Spathe along the way too.

But it can take quite a while, so it’s again not a guaranteed method and might just give you things you didn’t want, although they won’t go to waste.

3. Lost Sector Rewards

Since the Ophidia Spathe is an exotic chest piece, it is naturally a part of the Lost Sector reward pool. So, when chest pieces are in the rotation, you can have a far better chance than usual of getting the item by farming Lost Sectors.

Since this will help you narrow the rewards pool down to Lost Sector instead of the entire exotic drop pool as a whole, you are much more likely to get the Ophidia Spathe than any other time – which saves you more time than you would expect.

The only drawback is needing to wait for the chest pieces to come in rotation, of course.

4. Xur’s Inventory

Xur’s inventory is very likely to have the Ophidia Spathe in stock every now and then because it’s a part of the year-1 list of armors.

And being such an early armor also means that Xur has it on sale more than other gear that came out later – so while you will have to wait for a while for this to happen, it might be a shorter time than you’d expect it to be.

These are all of the currently available methods of obtaining the Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2. As mentioned in the steps too, you are not guaranteed to get the item by doing any of this and it is just a list of things that can make it drop for you.

At the end of the day, it’s entirely up to the game to give you what it wants. But one silver lining is that even other loot that you get is not useless in any way, so you will not have wasted your time.

And that’s it for our guide on how to get Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2. We hope you found it helpful and are already on your way to obtain it, and don’t forget to check out some of our other helpful gaming guides on this site too!
