If you love cats and cooking games, then Cats and Soup is your best bet. Cats and Soup is an idle mobile game that whisks you away to an enchanted forest filled with cats who can do human things, such as chopping up veggies and cooking.
As a player, you’re expected to make sure the business runs well. How? You’ll need to build facilities, angle rare fish, and unlock equipment to help your feline chefs prepare and sell as much soup as possible.
Apart from the business side of things, there are plenty of fun activities you can do on the side, such as splurging on clothes, accessories, and furniture for your cats.
However, all these items can only be bought with specific kinds of money. If you’ve just gotten furniture coins and don’t know how to use them, this guide tells you exactly how you can use furniture coins in Cats and Soup.
What Are Furniture Coins Used For in Cats and Soup?
The bolt symbol in Cats and Soup actually represents furniture coins. It’s obvious what furniture coins are used for – furniture. However, most beginner players probably don’t know that furniture coins can also be used to buy background music.
With all the new updates the developers made to the game, the way you get these items in Cats and Soup has changed. You can’t simply buy floor tiles, wallpaper, decor, or wall art in the same shop you buy background music.
Instead, those items have moved to the Furniture Shop, which needs to be built before you can access their catalog.
For those who don’t know, there are four types of currency you can earn in Cats and Soup: gold coins, gems, recipe points, and furniture coins. Most of the facilities and items in Cats and Soup are bought with gold coins.
Meanwhile, recipe points can be used to upgrade recipes, while gems are reserved for special items such as event-limited ones or opening the Treasure Chest.
How Do I Use Furniture Coins in Cats and Soup?
It all depends on what you’re planning to buy, though it’s actually very simple. If you want to purchase background music, you can get them from the Gift Shop.
First, click on the gift button located in the upper right corner of the screen. There, you’ll find all the background music. Currently, there are 17 tracks in Cats and Soup. Some of them are event-limited, so you won’t be able to find them all unless they show up again in the special/seasonal-limited tab.
The tracks you buy will show up on the BGM menu, which can be found on the game’s main menu.
To access the background music you’ve bought, click the icon above the Craft (hammer) button on the lower right corner of your screen. You can also preview other tracks there so you know which one to buy next.
Each of the tracks you buy is marked with a gold star and they can be played on an endless loop during the game.
If you want to spend furniture coins on furniture, go to the Furniture Shop. The shop is owned by the Hamster Trio, and if you haven’t built it yet, you should start working on it to be able to spend furniture coins.
The Furniture Shop actually doesn’t cost any gold to build one, but you’ll need to unlock the Claw Machine for 1000e. If you have the Claw Machine, then you can install the Furniture Shop.
Once you’ve unlocked the Furniture Shop, you can finally view the Furniture Catalog. However, you can only purchase three items from the shop each day. The catalog also shows a limited amount of furniture, but it can be refreshed by watching ads.
Keep in mind that the only items you can’t buy with furniture coins are event-limited furniture. Simply click the items you want to order and they’ll be delivered to you the next in-game day after Mr. Quokka builds them.
You can check the time limit below the catalog to see when your items will be delivered. After that, select a cat and decorate their mini room. Here, you’ll find the furniture you’ve just bought.
How to Get Furniture Coins in Cats and Soup?
Unlike gold coins, you can’t earn furniture coins by selling soup. Luckily, there are multiple ways you can get them. The fastest way to obtain furniture coins is by spending gems, which like many mobile games, cost real money to purchase.
Each furniture coin costs 1 gem, but the lowest bundle you can buy is 100 furniture coins, while the most are 500 furniture coins. Not all of us have the means to spend money on mobile games (but if you’d like to support the developers, go ahead by all means!).
Thankfully, there’s a way around that. In the Gift Shop, you can actually get 30 gems daily for free in the Gems section. You can also get more free gems by completing daily missions, which can be found in the Quest menu.
The Claw Machine is the best option if you don’t like spending real money. Just keep in mind that you get five tries each day. Each capsule normally contains 30 furniture coins, so it’ll take some time before you actually can afford to buy stuff.
Alternatively, you can get more furniture coins for free by completing daily missions or receiving them as random gifts from your cats. Keep an eye out for special events in the game as well. That’s because they sometimes release a coupon code that gives you furniture coins or gems.
