New World is an open-world MMORPG developed by Amazon Games Orange County. The game is set on Aeternum Island, a fictional island hidden in the Atlantic Ocean.
Up to five players can team up together and join different factions, explore the world, gather resources, craft items, go on quests, and battle against other players and monsters. Of course, if you’re going to do all these dangerous activities, you’re going to need armor to protect yourself.
Fortunately, there are a lot of armor sets in New World. They are different weight classes and rarity levels for each one, and naturally, you’ll want the highest-level armor you can get your hands on.
This is because they offer more perks and a higher Gear Score, which gives you better protection overall. You’ll need to gather suitable materials to craft your desired armor.
This guide tells you everything you need to know about crafting Voidbent Armor in New World, from its stats, materials, to how you can upgrade it.
What is Voidbent Armor?
Voidbent Armor is a Legendary armor set that many players seek after. This is because it boasts a 600 Gear Score for each piece, the highest gear tier offered in the game. If you don’t know how Gear Score works in New World, they essentially tell you the overall strength of your build.
This means the higher the Gear Score, the more protection you get from that armor. Voidbent Armor is primarily made out of Void Ore – one of the rarest and most powerful materials in New World.
They are then turned into Voidbent Ingots, which are also tricky to make. To start crafting Voidbent Armor, you’ll need to find Void Ore first. Note that this armor is more of a late-game item, as players with 200 Armoring can only start crafting the Voidbent Armor.
How to find Void Ore in New World
There are two ways you can get Void Ore: mining from orichalcum veins and buying from trading posts. The only time you can purchase void ores from the trading post is if another player offers them. You can always search “Void Ores” to see if they’re up for sale, but considering how difficult they are to obtain, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they’re costly.
Mining orichalcum veins is demanding, as you’ll need at least 175 Mining Skill to gather it. You can start tracking them at level 200, and bring a Pickaxe tool. You’ll mostly find orichalcum veins in the northern area and the western islands on the map. Be careful, the northern area is filled with hostile monsters.
There’s also a small chance you’ll get Void Ore, much like the Fae Iron. You’re most likely to get Void Ores if your Mining Luck is higher than 1800, so you will also need to increase your mining luck by eating foods that give that effect.
These foods include Boiled, Roasted, Herb-roasted Potatoes, Poultry with Roasted Potatoes, and Salted Roasted Vegetables.
How to craft Voidbent Ingot in New World
To smelt Voidbent Ingots, you’ll need to acquire the Voidbent Ingot recipe first. Many recipes require you to have an artifact ingredient for it to show up in your crafting station. These are the ingredients for Voidbent Ingot:
- x1 Void Ore
- x1 Void Essence
- x10 Energy Core.
Void Essences are found in supply or ancient containers and elite chests at the Eternal Pool in Reekwater, and Genesis of Malevolence in Edengrove. You can also buy Void Essence at the trading post if you don’t feel like gathering them. Energy Cores are crafted using x1 Eternal Heart and x1 Elemental Heart.
Once you have all these ingredients, you can smelt them into ingots. Remember that you will need a Tier-3 Smelter to make Voidbent Ingots.
How to Craft Voidbent Amor in New World
Now that you have Voidbent Ingots, you can start making Voidbent Armor! First, you’ll need to acquire the legendary crafting mat. There are 15 pieces you can get for the Voidbent Armor set, and these are the attributes you should expect for each weight class:
- Light Armor: 25 Strength (125 if complete)
- Medium Armor: 25 Dexterity (125 if complete)
- Heavy Armor: 25 Constitution (125 if complete).
You can also dye the chest, leg, and shoulder pieces to the color of your liking. Unfortunately, only the helms and boots of the heavy Voidbent Armor set cannot be dyed. So keep that in mind when you’re planning to dye all the pieces of your Heavy Armor set the same color.
