Elden Ring is a game that allows the player to choose their own narrative. There are dozens of decisions to be made in every part of the game.

For example, the character that you make, the way you play the game, what order you fight the game’s bosses, and how you interact with the game’s story too.

There are dozens of quests that let you make your own decisions in terms of whether you help someone, ignore them or kill them. And certain decisions are permanently recorded by the game which eventually leads to the ending.

Elden Ring has 6 endings that the player can unlock.

l of them except two have the player become an Elden Lord, which unlocks the Elden Lord achievement. And as of our knowledge right now, there is no end where the player character is completely free of the influence of one of the Outer Gods of the Lands Between.

It’s very easy to miss these endings since they all come with different requirements, so let’s take a look at all 6 of them and how you can get them!

Age of Fracture (Default Ending + Elden Lord)

"Age

The Age of Fracture is considered the default ending of Elden Ring. If you haven’t followed any extra requirements within the game, you get this ending.

How to get the Age of Fracture ending:

Simply beat the final boss and choose to “Mend the Elden Ring”.

What happens:

This is a very basic ending. The Tarnished choose to mend the Elden Ring and begin a new age as an Elden Lord.

Age of Duskborn (Elden Lord)

"Age

The Age of Duskborn ending is achieved by completing Fia’s questline before you fight the final boss.

How to get the Age of Duskborn ending:

First, you’ll have to complete Fia’s quest, which ends with the player receiving the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince. After that, once you defeat the final boss, choose “Use Mending Rune of the Death-Prince” and you will achieve this ending.

What happens:

Once Godwyn’s corpse is given a second life as the First of the Dead, Fia lays with him and bears one of the first demigods in the form of a rune.

Eventually, the Tarnished begin a new age of Duskborn as the Elden Lord. In this age, the principle of life within Death is embedded into Order.

Blessing of Despair (Elden Lord)

"Blessing

Similar to the other Elden Lord endings, the Blessing of Despair ending shows that the Tarnished choose to use the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse.

How to get the Blessing of Despair ending:

To achieve this ending, the player has to give Seedbeds to the Dung Eater until they receive the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse. After that, simply defeat the final boss and choose to “Use Mending Rune of the Fell Curse”.

What happens:

The Tarnished becomes the new Elden Lord and the Lands Between is overtaken by a reviled curse.

Age of Order (Elden Lord)

"Age

The Age of Order ending is a conflicting ending in which the Tarnished choose to restore perfect order to the Lands Between. The conflict arises from its different interpretations, as some players believe that it gives people a better life – while others think that it takes away their free will.

How to get the Age of Order ending:

Complete Goldmask and Brother Corhyn’s questline which gives you the Mending Rune of Perfect Order. Then, defeat the final boss and choose to “Use Mending Rune of Perfect Order”/

What happens:

The Tarnished becomes the Elden Lord and restores order in the Lands Between. The order is considered perfect, so it cannot be twisted like before and will remain as it is, stabilizing the world that the player is in.

Much of it is left open to the player’s interpretation, but it’s arguably a happier ending than those with curses and death.

Age of the Stars

"Age

Once the Elden Beast is defeated, the Tarnished summons Ranni in front of Marika’s remains. She supplants Marika as Goddess and the Tarnished becomes her Elden Lord.

How to get the Age of the Stars ending:

This ending is achieved by first completing Ranni the Witch’s questline. After that, once the final boss is defeated, the player needs to use Ranni’s summon sign to initiate the ending.

What happens:

In this ending, the player becomes Ranni’s Elden Lord. She brings an end to the Golden Order and establishes her own Order which removes the influence of the Greater Will from the Lands Between.

Then, the player and Ranni leave together on a journey that will last a thousand stars.

Lord of the Frenzied Flame

Unlike the other endings, the Tarnished becomes the Elden Lord, neither for the land nor for Ranni the Witch. Instead, they become the Lord of the Frenzied Flame.

"Lord

How to get the Lord of the Frenzied Flame ending:

First of all, the player needs to meet the Three Fingers to inherit the Frenzied Flame. Then, once the final boss is defeated, choose to “Become the Lord of the Frenzied Flame”.

Keep in mind that if you inherit the flame before the events at the Forge of the Giants, Melina will leave the Tarnished’s company and they have to sacrifice their body at the Forge. This unlocks an extra scene.

However, if the player obtains the Frenzied Flame after those events, the scene with Melina does not occur since she sacrifices herself.

Important Note: If you do this, you get locked out of every other ending unless the player uses Miquella’s Needle at Dragonlord Placidusax’s arena at Crumbling Farum Azula’s. This reverses the Frenzied Flame.

However, it’s possible to lock yourself out of getting Miquella’s Needle too because if you invade Milicent at the end of her questline, she will not drop the needle.

What happens:

The Tarnished becomes the Lord of the Frenzied Flame. Depending on whether you get the Frenzied Flame before the events at Forge of the Giants or after, Melina will either be dead or alive.

And if Melina lives, an extra scene unlocks where she devotes herself to delivering ‘Destined Death’ to the Tarnished.
