The game has received many different updates and expansions \u2013 which naturally add a lot of new features every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One such feature is the \u2018Mentor\u2019 system which was added during the Heavensward event and it acts as an in-game lobby for novice players who can speak with more experienced enthusiasts of Final Fantasy XIV<\/a> and learn more about the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Not only that but there\u2019s an additional reward attached too such as being able to participate in Mentor Roulette, including an amazing 2-seater mount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It can be difficult to figure out how you can become a mentor if you\u2019re new to the game, so we\u2019ve created a thorough guide of the steps that you need to take to become a mentor in Final Fantasy 14. So, let\u2019s get started!<\/p>\n\n\n\n An interesting thing to note about Final Fantasy 14 Mentors is the fact that there are two types of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Whether you want to be a PvE Mentor or a Trade Mentor, you will need to complete a certain set of requirements that will allow you to gain the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They\u2019re both based on the theme of their names, as one is about proving yourself in combat and the other one is about proving yourself in collectibles and craft. You can, of course, do both if you want and get the label for that too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PvE means Player vs Enemy, so the requirements are all about fighting the game\u2019s AI-controlled enemies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As you can see, there\u2019s a consistency in level 80 in the requirements for both PvE and Trade Mentor variations, so that\u2019s something you should work on even if you don\u2019t want to be a Mentor right now so that it\u2019s easier later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n There\u2019s a small difference between the icon you\u2019d get with the crown and that\u2019s based on whether you become a Mentor by completing the tank, healer, or DPS role quest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first thing you have to do is to meet the requirements of either the PvE Mentor or the Trade Mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can also complete both of them to be recognized for both your trade and combat capabilities at the same time, but that\u2019s completely up to the player and if they\u2019re willing to put in the effort when a single list of tasks will still make them a relevant Mentor too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once you\u2019re ready to go, it\u2019s time to register yourself as a Mentor. To do that, you need to speak to the Smith in any of the locations where the character can be visited, and here\u2019s a list of the locations you can usually try your luck in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once you visit the designated places and talk to Smith, you should become a Mentor and you can finally do the things that are exclusive to them, or just show off your crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you were Mentor prior to the Shadowbringers event and didn\u2019t play the game in a while, you will need to talk to a Smith NPC again to regain your title without any extra effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We hope that this guide helped you on your journey to becoming a Mentor in Final Fantasy XIV!
